Long-Distance Moving from North Carolina

One dedicated Bull City truck, one crew that loads, drives, and unloads — your shipment never rides with a stranger’s.

When you are leaving Durham for another state, the biggest worry is who actually touches your furniture along the way. With Bull City Movers there is one answer: our crew loads the truck here, our crew drives it, and the same crew carries it into the new place. Your shipment is the only one on the truck.

We send our own dedicated truck up I-85 or out I-40 — no cross-docking, no shared trailer, no warehouse hand-off where boxes go missing.

  • Licensed & insured — US DOT/MC & NC household-goods registration
  • Flat-rate written quotes, no hidden fees
  • Our own uniformed crews & trucks

Long-distance is where a lot of companies quietly become a paperwork operation, selling your move to whoever has a truck near your zip code that week. We do not work that way. Bull City Movers carries US DOT and MC authority for interstate moves, and we run the route ourselves with the people whose names you will know by the end of load day.

Most of our long hauls start on I-40 or I-85 out of Durham and run to Virginia, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and up the East Coast. Because it is one shipment on one truck, we can give you a real delivery window instead of a vague two-week spread.

How long-distance pricing works

Long-distance is a binding written quote, not an hourly guess. The rate is built from weight, distance, and access at both ends, then locked so it cannot creep on you mid-trip.

Move type Typical starting point
Studio / 1-bedroom out of state From $1,950
2–3 bedroom home Quoted by weight + miles
Dedicated truck (no shared load) Always included
Packing or storage add-ons Priced separately, in writing

Flat-rate long-distance starts at $1,950 with a binding written quote. A $99 deposit holds the date and applies to your balance. Coverage runs up to $1,000,000 per shipment, with full-value protection available beyond the $0.60-per-pound released standard.

What is not included

A binding quote only stays binding if both sides know what it covers. These sit outside the base number and we put them in writing if you want them.

  • Full packing of your home — available as a full-pack or partial-pack add-on.
  • Storage in transit if your closing dates do not line up; we have climate-controlled vaults at our Durham warehouse.
  • Specialty handling for a piano or safe, from $349.
  • Extra stops or shuttle service when a tractor-trailer cannot reach a tight street at either end.

Because it is our truck and our crew the whole way, anything that comes up on the road is handled by people you can actually reach — our Durham office answers the phone.

What’s included

Everything our crew brings on move day — no add-ons, no surprises.

  • A dedicated Bull City truck for your shipment only — never cross-loaded
  • The same crew loads in Durham, drives, and unloads at the destination
  • Binding written quote built on weight, distance, and access
  • US DOT and MC interstate authority, bonded and insured
  • Up to $1,000,000 cargo coverage per shipment along the route

Common questions

Will my things be loaded onto a shared truck with other people’s stuff?
No. Your shipment gets its own Bull City truck and rides alone. We do not cross-dock at a warehouse or combine loads, which is how items get lost or delayed. One truck, one crew, Durham to your door.
How is a long-distance price calculated?
It is a binding written quote based on the weight of your shipment, the distance, and how easy the load and unload spots are to reach. Once you approve it, the number is locked. Flat-rate moves start at $1,950, and a $99 deposit holds your date and comes off the balance.
Which states do you move to out of Durham?
We run regularly along I-40 and I-85 to Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and up the East Coast, plus longer hauls on request. Tell us the destination and we will confirm the route and a delivery window for your dedicated truck.
Are you a broker that finds me a long-distance carrier?
No — we run the trucks. Bull City Movers is a licensed and insured mover with US DOT and MC authority and North Carolina household-goods registration. We are not a broker or matching service; our own crew handles your move from the Durham curb to the new front door.

Ready to move with Bull City Movers?

Tell us your ZIP codes and move date — Marcus or Tasha sends back a flat written price, usually within the hour. Our own uniformed crew, our own trucks, and the number doesn’t change on move day.
